Analytical graphic statics

Graphic statics is undergoing a renaissance, with computerized visual representation becoming both easier and more spectacular as time passes. While methods of the past are revived, little emphasis has been placed on studying mathematics behind these methods. Due to considerable advances our mathematical understanding since birth graphic statics, we can learn lot by examining old from modern viewpoint. As such, this work shows fabric joining different aspects like dualities, reciprocal diagrams, discontinuous stress functions. This done introducing new, three dimensional force diagram (containing two diagram) depicting equilibrium planar systems. A corresponding “form diagram” (dual introduced, in which forces treated linear functionals vectors). It shown that polyhedral function introduced Maxwell fact combination functionals; projective dualities connecting diagrams also explained.
